  1. WAIVERS AND TEAM CHECK-IN

If there is anyone left on your team that has not signed a waiver (either online or paper), this will need to be completed BEFORE they will be allowed to race.  Teams will get their wristbands when ALL WAIVERS have been turned into the Check-In (Registration) Tent and verified. 

The Check-in (Registration) Tent will be located at the front of the venue across the road from the parking lot.  Please stop by here before setting up your tent space and Greeters will be able to direct you to your rented tent or area to setup your own tent.

  1. WHAT TO BRING / FAQ
  • Please remember that Alcohol is NOT allowed at this event and neither are grills or open flames.
  • This is a family friendly event but please make sure there is a guardian with your children at all times.  We do not provide childcare at this event.
  • Below is a listing of things that should be brought to this event:

o   Water Bottle – We will have 3 water filling stations setup in the festival area

o   Sunscreen

o   Water shoes or shoes that you can get wet – We load from the beach so your feet and bottom half of your legs (possibly up to knees)will get wet

o   Folding Chairs

o   Team Spirit!!!

  1. RACE DAY AGENDA
  • FRIDAY EVENING

o   3:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Access to venue available to setup / decorate your tent

  • SATURDAY (Race Day)

o   Pre-Racing

  • 6:45 AM – Team Check-in Opens (Registration Tent)
  • 7:15 AM – Captain’s Meeting (Marshalling Area)
  • 7:30 AM – Steersperson Meeting (Marshalling Area)
  • 7:30 AM – Drummer’s Meeting (Marshalling Area)
  • 7:45 AM – Team Warm-Up
  • 8:00 AM – Opening Ceremony
  • 8:10 AM – American and Canadian National Anthems

o   Qualifying Heats

  • 8:30 – 10:00 – Heat 1 (Races 1-10) – Please make sure to have your team picture taken prior to marshalling to your 1st race.
  • 10:30 – 12:00 – Heat 2 (Races 11-20)

o   Lunch / Rose Ceremony / “Best of” Awards

  • 12:00 – 1:00

o   Divisional Finals and Medals

  • 1:10 – 2:40

o   Hype Challenge

  • 2:50

 

****IMPORTANT**** Please pay attention to the Announcer regarding Race Times.  There is a lot happening on race day and we make every effort to stay on time.  If there is a chance that we can get ahead of schedule, we will move forward to try to get everyone finished on time or earlier.

  1. RACE FORMAT
  • Each Team will race 3 x 250 Meter Races
  • There will be 3 boats per race with the exception of Races 5, 10, 18, 20, 28 and 29 which will have 2 boats per race.
  • As we did last year, we will take your FASTEST TIME from Heats 1 & 2 to determine placement in the Divisional Finals (3rd Race).

  1. AWARDS

The following awards will be given out on race day.

  • Best Decorated Tent
  • Best Team Name
  • Best T-Shirt Design
  • Medals for the top 3 finishers in each division (BCS/ACS, Mixed Club, Women’s, Community)

  1. VENDORS, SILENT AUCTION, BASKET RAFFLE, SPLIT-THE-POT

Don’t forget to bring your money… We will have several Food and Merchandise Vendors at this year’s festival as well as Split-the-Pot, Silent Auction and Raffle Baskets.

  1. DIRECTIONS TO AJ JOLLY PARK

From the north:

  • From I-275 (either direction) or I-471
  • Take US 27 South (Alexandria) for 11 miles.  A Tyson processing plant will be on your left
  • Make the next left at Cooper Bain or Racetrack Road.  Pass the soccer fields and go over a small bridge
  • Follow the signs for “Festival Parking”.

From the south:

  • Take US 27 North
  • Make a right at Racetrack Road. Pass the soccer fields and go over a small bridge
  • Follow the signs for “Festival Parking”
